This is the current combustion chamber for Hephaestus. It features 14 ports along the chamber, 13 of which will have a pressure transducer and thermocouple connected with a tee fitting. The last port is for the fuel inlet. The chamber also has a tapered fuel manifold, and is additively manufactured out of GrCop-42.

Chamber Specifications:

Expansion Ratio: 3.74

Contraction Ratio: 8 (we don’t do that [urns] here)

Pressure: 350 psi

L*: 60" – shown that L*'s above 60" provide enough residence time for the nitrous to fully combust. Additionally, the pintle injector should give the nitrous more residence time with its recirculation zones.
