Design 1: This design focuses on efficiency, since it was a primary user goal. This became one of the bases for our team Design #1. Every page requires just one click - when a button is pressed, the screen automatically advances. This has great efficiency. Because there is minimal text and few objects, the learnability is moderate: there are few options for the user to try, but the buttons may not be obvious. The safety is poor - there isn't even a back button. |

Design 2: This is intended to mimic physical ballots, and became one of the bases for our team design #2. The efficiency is poor because there is a lot of scrolling, and not too much area to click a given option. Learnability is great because it looks very familiar. Safety is good because the user gets feedback, and there is a back button allowing error-correction. |

Design 3: This design is intended to improve safety by using drop-down menus for each option. This improves safety because the user will see very clearly which option they picked, and also click next: giving them time to process their choice and accept it. The efficiency is poor because this is a lot of narrow scrolling and mouse movement. The learnability is fair: with few distractions, the drop-down menus should be fairly clear. |
