    • want resident profiles with all the information regarding a user in one place
  • independently hired desk workers
    • not affiliated with MIT
    • manage packages, items, and guests
    • work daytime and evenings
    • frequently check out items
    • use post-it notes for communication
  • security guards
    • work as from midnight until 8 am
    • don't handle packages, items, or guest lists
    • handle guests without using the guest list
    • only need to use the system to look up residents
    • work in multiple dorms

User Needs/Goals:

  • register packages easily
  • easily mark packages as picked up
  • check out games, movies, and spare room keys
  • verify guests
  • leave messages for other desk workers
  • view log of actions
  • No labels

  1. Problem Statement: I think the problem statement needs a little preciseness about the problems that are faced, other than ""require unncessary and confusing steps"", and the like. Also, relate it back to the user, and how these issues are problems for them (e.g., it results in mistakes, logistically difficult,)

    User Analysis: Good!

    Needs/Goals Analysis: This was very thoroughly done for each user class, and I thought you brought up points which could only have been found out through interviewing and analyzing. Nice!
    Interviews/Observation: I think you did a good job in your interviews!

    Overall: This looks like an interesting projec! I think you identified several things that many who have not observed such users would have not known about, such as leaving notes from one shift to another. These are very challenging problems too, which I think will present huge room for creative designs and solutions from your group for the rest of the GRs! I look forward to seeing how this progresses! .
