GR1 - Task Analysis

User Analysis

The target audience is MIT Undergraduates.  Here are some characteristics we expect to see in our users:

  1. 17-23 year age range
  2. Ability to read and write English
  3. 46/54 female-to-male ratio
  4. Strong analytical skills
  5. Diverse political, geographical, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds

Task Analysis

  1. Log-in using MIT certificates
  2. Dynamically search through all MIT courses
  3. View course evaluations
  4. Select classes for a semester schedule
  5. Sync semester schedule to ical/gcal
  6. Create a 4-year graduation plan

Domain Analysis

    • The problem statement is good.
    • no evidence that you actually did observation or talked to actual users. You have talk to at least 3 representative users.
    • The user and task analysis are too sketchy. You should have multiple user classes, and at least 3 high-level essential tasks, which includes thorough characteristics & subtasks.
    • The domain analysis is good. You should include all these objects mentioned in the task analysis.
