Research Description:

Ellen explores how mathematical models are used in sustainability negotiations. For her dissertation work, she focuses on two arenas of sustainability negotiations: commercial supply chains and intra-governmental infrastructure planning. For the former, she uses The Cup Game, a negotiation role-play simulation she created based on a real-life coffee cup supply chain. For the latter, she conducts experiments with the 3E Game, wherein participants try to suggest a sustainable infrastructure plan for a desert nation. She also studies design, innovation, and leadership.
