Meeting prep (action items from last meeting):
- Everyone should look at the box types that they choose by Tuesday, if possible:
- Peter: Rich text/Dynamic Content/scripts, RSS feeds
- Angie: Embedding video and interactive polls, user link submission
- Remlee: Remote script box, pod cast, web links
- Maggie: Date and Events, Documents & Files
- Georgiana: Tag Cloud, Books from the catalog
- Remlee will update the guidelines page (http://libstaff.mit.edu/web/guidelines/libguides.html).
Possible topics for discussion:
- What else would we like to see on tools template page that Nicole is making? (ex., bibliographic software, the search widget, etc)
- Combine Barton and Multisearch in one box
- Have them separate in their own boxes
- Would people search for journal articles in
- Bibliographic software links - take to cite-help
- ILB
- Ask Us button
- Should we use tags?
- Set to be invisible, if no tags for a page.
- Can't use until you publish
- Let's not use it for now. Too cluttered & unwieldy. Turn off from display home?
- Look at Post to LibGuides button.
- Very cool! Ask people to check their page after we add it.
- Do you need to be logged in for it to work? Couldn't just add to someone else's page, could you?
- Anything to discuss about search box at top?
- Can it say "Barton?" And we want it to be a keyword search?
- Can we add Vera Multisearch?
- You have to add a line to search "OR"??
- Can we just get rid of the search box?
- Looked at box types:
- Podcast
- Web links
- Remote script box
- Web links with more info
- RSS feeds: 5-29 items allowed
- Books from the catalog
