Bargaining Survey Suggestions
- Increase CPT and OPT support to match the U.S. federal standards.
- Improve guidance and support on maintaining visa status when changing advisors or programs.
- Provide funds to cover visa-related fees and costs that graduate workers pay to be employed (e.g. SEVIS).
- Increase funding and support for the International Student Office (e.g. providing a hotline for students stuck at the border).
- Equal work expectations for international and domestic graduate workers (e.g., MIT cannot require international students to work on campus while allowing domestic students to work remotely.)
