Purpose:
The AV bulkheads provide support to AV Bay. The Top Bulkhead provides additional support to the AV bulkhead, while the bottom Screw Bulkhead attaches the AV Bay to the Mission Package Tube (MPT). All electronics are contained between the two AV Bulkheads.
Requirements:
- AV Bay shall be able to withstand loads experienced during flight
- AV Bay structure shall minimize vibration of electronic components
Details/Design:
The Top Bulkhead is acrylic and contains two mounting holes for attachment.
The Screw Bulkhead attaches to the Mission Package Tube. It has two mounting holes and four radial holes for attachment to the MPT. It is made out of Aluminum 6061.
Manufacturing:
Plan
- Waterjet the screw bulkhead and the two mounting holes. Tap the remaining four radial holes
- Laser cut the acrylic top bulkhead
