The rocket shall reach an apogee above 150,000 ft, with a goal of 185,000 feet. Subrequirements necessary to achieve this goal follow:

  • Flight simulations shall accurately represent the rocket and demonstrate:
    • A minimum stability margin of 2 calibers across all points during flight
    • Stage separation in the supersonic regime
    • A minimum apogee above 150,000 ft, with a goal of 185,000 ft.
  • The fin cans shall withstand expected forces:
    • Drag force
    • Lift force
    • Shock loads
    • Interlaminar shear
    • Flutter
  • The fin cans shall withstand expected heating:
    • Stagnation temperature
    • Heat released from the motor
