- SSDD - Single Separation Dual Deploy; The Rocket will deploy a small parachute near apogee to control descent and then deploy a large parachute near the ground to achieve a safe landing velocity. These parachutes both come from the same separation point.
- DSDD - Dual Separation Dual Deploy; The Rocket will deploy a small parachute near apogee to control descent and then deploy a large parachute near the ground to achieve a safe landing velocity. These parachutes both come from either side of the avionics bay.
- CTI - Cesaroni Technology Incorporated; The supplier of many of the team's high power motors. Website
- HPR - High Power Rocket; Any rocket using a propulsion system with more than 160Ns of impulse. (also refers to High Power Rocketry)
- Fin Can; The lowest portion of the rocket which contains the fins and motor. Rail buttons also usually go here.
- Rail Buttons; pieces of hard plastic which slide into the launch pad's guide rail to hold the rocket steady and upright.
- Rail Guides; see Rail Buttons
- Positive Retention; Constraining the rocket motor so that it cannot move in either direction.
- MMT - Motor Mount Tube; The section of the vehicle that the motor case slides into.
- Forward Closure; A plastic or metal component that seals the top side of the motor case.
- Aft Closure; A plastic or metal piece that holds the nozzle in place.
- Main; The large parachute employed by a rocket to slow itself to a safe landing speed.
- Drogue; a relatively small parachute deployed near the top of a rocket's flight.
- Apogee; the highest point of a rocket's trajectory.
- Launch Rail; A vertical piece of metal that holds the rocket up and helps the rocket fly straight. Comes in 1010 and 1515 varieties.
- Unistrut; Launch rails for big rockets.
- Vent holes; holes drilled in the rocket to allow compartments to equalize with ambient pressure.
- "Sled"; Usually refers to an altimeter mounting structure with one plate in the avionics bay to mount to.
- Switchband; a short piece of tube with the same OD as the body which is placed on the exterior of an avionics bay coupler. Holes for switches can be put through this band.
