Overview
The avionics bay is the primary structural component that contains the avionics and piston. This section re-acts the load from the recovery system to the rest of the mission package.

Testing
Ultimate load test
The Avionics Bay assembly was tested to expected flight and recovery loads with a safety factor of 1.25. The assembly was mounted by the bolts with transfer load to the nose cone and tested in tension by hanging weights from the U-bolt. The Avionics bay was able to hold 500 lbs without significant signs of deformation.
