Booster Forward Retention Ring

Below is a cross section and drawing of the booster forward retention ring. Solidworks FEA was done on both booster and sustainer retention rings.The inner part inserts into the case itself then the top part rests on the case thickness. There are holes in the top lip for screws to screw into the mission package tube.

Sustainer Forward Retention Ring

Below is a cross section and drawing of the sustainer forward retention ring. Solidworks FEA was done on both booster and sustainer retention rings.The inner part inserts into the case itself then the top part rests on the case thickness. There are holes in the top lip for screws to screw into the mission package tube. The maximum outer diameter is less than the outer diameter of the sustainer case to accommodate COTS fiberglass tubing we use for our mission package tubes.
