Overview
The Structures team builds the primary structure, secondary structure, and aerodynamic structure of the vehicle. This frequently involves machining metallic and composite components (for example, building body tubes via fiberglass layups). Below are some useful pages that include some of the processes used to build our structures, the factors that guide our design, and other sources containing valuable theoretical knowledge on topics from composites to acid etching.
Update: The Structures Subteam has recently split into two subteams: Inner Structures and Composites. The Wiki articles that were previously on this page are being moved to their respective subteam Wiki pages, which can be accessed by clicking below:
Composites Subteam: nose cone, booster fin can, sustainer fin can, and other composite parts
Inner Structures Subteam: avionics bay, couplers, and other secondary structures
Update: Composites is dead, and Recovery has been absorbed into Structures. All information pertaining to structures and recovery will be located under the Structures heading.
