Overview

A potential goal for the 2018-2019 MIT Rocket Team is to fly two of it's previous designs on SRAD propulsion in a two stage configuration. This design would be capable of 250,000 ft + in altitude and require either Spaceport America or Black Rock as a launch site.

Stage 1

The first stage vehicle would be a rebuild of Project Hermes. The 5.5:1 Von Karmen nose cone would be replaced with a conic transition section containing a staging mechanism. The first stage would fly on a P motor.

Stage 2

The second stage would be a modified version of Project Virgo. It would be loaded with a version of OW-98-FIN1 #1 with the 2018-2019 Propellant stretched by approximately 14 inches. The second stage would require additional TPS.
