At the start of the 2017-2018 year, the team recognized a need for a custom launch system.  

The launch pad is currently under construction

Soil Subsidence

The base plate of the pad is 34" x 34" , or 1156  $//<![CDATA[ \begin{array}{l}in^2\end{array} //]]>$. Per the New York City Building Code [1] Dense silty soil similar to that of the Crow Island, MA test site can support 3 tons per square foot or 41.6 psi. The pad exerts 2.92 psi of force on the ground during a full scale 'P' static fire with a 1.5 factor of safety, making soil subsidence an unlikely occurrence.
