Who in FSX is working on this?

Currently Oliver, Wilson, and Laxmi are working on this, mainly to try to find out if/how Virebo might have broader impact on something like student printing at MIT. It's a terrific web app.

Goal for current Virebo app

The current goal for Virebo is to satisfy the information-gathering needs of MIT's purchasing-reform committee. (The committee, particularly Professor Richard Locke at Sloan and Ms. Diane Shea, director of procurement, suggested most of its principal features; I'm currently talking with Theresa Regan and Mark Silis of IS&T to finalize MIT's contract for the service.)

Possible opportunities for broader impact

  • Improving student printing at MIT
    • Use metrics to encourage behavioral changes and cultural changes in our "public" printing environment
    • More efficiently manage public student printers
  • Add visibility to Virebo through cross-promoting it on other printing web sites (quickprint.mit.edu, cups.mit.edu)
