Each year SAP releases Support Packs addressing defect reports generated from clients and internal testing, as well as adjustments to accounting rules and financial regulations.  The implementation of new SAP Support Packs is an activity that brings new and optimized functionality to the environment.  The Support Packs are necessary to keep SAP Support current and to run year end tax related processes.

The Support Packs are scheduled for release by SAP at various points throughout the year.  MIT collects the Support Packs for a single installation at year end.  After the installation of the Support Packs is completed, functional and regression testing is conducted to determine if the Support Packs have impacted any of the existing MIT SAP functionality, both out of box and customized.  This is a repeated event with the assumption that each year SAP will release Support Packs.
