Synology IMAP Email account is not working

  

In the event your client program (Apple Mail) is working fine for all your other email accounts (MIT, Exchange, GMail, Yahoomail) but your Synology Mail server appears to be down, here's what you need to do to reset the Synology's Mail server.

  1. Log onto the Synology via port 5000/5001
  2. Go to the Main Menu-> Package Center
  3. Select on Mail Center
  4. Under "Action" click on "Stop"
  5. Wait until the Mail Server is stopped.
  6. Once the Mail Server is stopped, go back under "Action" and click on "Start".
  7. Once it's started, go back to your mail client (Apple Mail, etc) and see if you can now connect.
