The Avionics Bay assembly was tested to ultimate load. expected flight and recovery loads with a safety factor of 1.25. The assembly was mounted by the bolts with transfer load to the nose cone and tested in tension by hanging weights from the U-bolt. The Avionics bay was able to hold 500 lbs without significant signs of deformation.
