Use the collection number as the unique identifier (EAD ID). Use leading zeros—collection numbers should have 4 digits after the dash and accession numbers should have 3 digits.
In the rare instance that a collection number has not been assigned, the accession number acts as the unique identifier, and should used until a collection number is given.
