Parachutes

Requirements:

  1. Shall deploy at apogee (Booster Main, Sustainer Drogue) or 2000 ft. (Sustainer Main)
  2. Shall bring the rocket down at safe descent velocity (Note: Phoenix requirements state that hardware should be able to survive 30 ft/s impact)
  3. Shall withstand inflation loads

Material:

Ripstop nylon (COTS from Fruity Chutes)

Risks:

  • Doesn't deploy
  • Deploys early
  • Shreds
  • Squidding
