The basic review process is as follows:

  • Go to https://gradapply.mit.edu/aeroastro/review/ and log in.
  • Click on the "Your folders" link in the menu on the left. This will present you with a list of all folders that have been assigned to you.
  • Click on an applicants name. This will present you with a page containing all of the information submitted by the applicant.
  • The reference letters are in a table mid-way down. Each completed reference letter should say "Yes" next to it twice. The first yes is for the PDF view of the reference letter that we are used to. The second yes is for a text distillation of the PDF. The text distillation sometimes fails. If you try to read the text view and it appears to be garbage, go back to the applicant's page and try the PDF view.
  • The major codes (16, 61, 63, etc.) correspond to MIT Course numbers, as selected by the applicant from a drop-down list.
  • If the applicant did not enter information into a field, i.e., Financial Disclosure, then the system does not provide a blank space but drops that header from the page. As a result, the Financial Disclosure area will not appear at all (empty or otherwise) for students who did not complete a Financial Disclosure form.
  • To enter your review, click on the "Enter or edit your review" link at the top of the page. Please do not enter anything into the "Pre decision comment" box at the top of the page or the decision fields at the bottom of the page.
