Each database in Vera has an "info" link for linking to the full description on our A-Z lists.

Here's how to add an info link to a web page (or a LibGuide):

1. Go to this page:
https://wikis.mit.edu/confluence/display/LIBVERAMETALIB/Info+URLs+for+Vera+databases;

2. Search on the page for the name of your database, such as "compendex."
(in most browsers, this is called "find in page")

3. Highlight & copy everything after the database name (including the space and hyphen), for example:
- <a target="_blank" href="http://libraries.mit.edu/info/compendex" ><font color="#ff9600" size="-2"><u>info</u></font></a>

4. On the web page or LibGuide (in HTML code view), paste that after the name of your database. It will create a small, orange link that goes to the correct "info" URL.

So it should look like this: Compendex - info (but the link will be orange).

5. FYI: Every database in Vera has an "info" link. Most databases use the same name as the "get URL." For example:
http://libraries.mit.edu/get/compendex
http://libraries.mit.edu/info/compendex

Since some databases are not on the web (CD-ROMs or local software), for those the info URLs are constructed using a behind-the-scenes Vera ID number, since that can happen automatically by the script that creates them. Here's an example:
Beilstein Crossfire: http://libraries.mit.edu/info/vera997
