Palm OS devices have been popular at MIT. However, the future of the OS is uncertain as Palm OS had been virtually at a stand-still since 2004 with the exception of minor updates. Most industry experts believe that the Palm OS will phase out over the next couple of years. Users considering purchasing new mobile devices are advised to seek alternate devices such as Windows Mobile devices.
