Best Practices for MIT Libraries Metadata

This section is provided to capture the policies, guidelines, workflows, processes, tools and standards in use to create, manage and deploy metadata in the MIT Libraries.  The objective of this capture process is the definition of standard practices that can be applied to corresponding types of projects in a systematic and cost-effective way.

A distinct but complementary process is underway to make some metadata decisions with regard to the MIT Libraries DOME Collections.  This process is being undertaken by the MIT Libraries DOME Advisory Committee Metadata Strikeforce.  There activity can be followed at DOMECORE.
