Application Requirements

Android phone with OS 4.0.x installed

If you cannot run the application on your phone, you will need to set up an Android Emulator on your computer. Instructions for doing so can be found here: http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing.html. You will need to download the project source files, which can be found here: https://github.com/safreiberg/ExplodingFlowers.

Accessing Prototype Without A Phone

Download the Android Emulator using these instructions: http://developer.android.com/guide/developing/devices/emulator.html#apps.  Specifically look at the section called "Installing Applications on the Emulator" using the .apk file found here: http://mit.edu/saf/Public/ExplodingFlowers.apk.

Accessing Prototype With A Phone (Requires Android SDK 15 Codename Ice Cream Sandwich)

The easiest way to install our app is to scan this barcode with your phone:

Otherwise, navigate to: http://mit.edu/saf/Public/ExplodingFlowers.apk and download this file to your computer.  After, e-mail this file to an E-mail account that you can access on your phone.  Open the e-mail on your phone and press install to begin the download.  If this does not work, then try changing the settings of your phone to allow application downloads from places other than the google play warehouse.

Starting Prototype

To start the application, go to the list of applications installed on your phone and click on the app called MusicalSketches.

If you are running the emulator, press Ctrl+F11 or Ctrl+F12 on Windows or Ctrl+Fn+F11 on Mac to switch between portrait and landscape.
