Business Design 1

When a business creates or edits their page, it will be similar to creating/editing a social networking profile.  The idea is to describe the business.  Clients can view this page if they click on the business in a search.

Features of this design that will help meet business goals are:

  • Listing "causes" on the profile will discourage clients with events catering to different causes from contacting the business.  This helps with both 1 and 2.
  • Slider at the right is to indicate how close the business is to their donation quota/budget.  The user would see this and would be likely to avoid businesses with filled budgets.  Also when clients search for businesses, one search algorithm could take into account the budget indicator and show businesses who are almost at the maximum later in the list. This helps with 1.
  • The blurb allows the business to tell the client anything else they would need to know.

Because businesses do not often look for events to sponsor, and for  simplicity, we do not give the business the option to search through events.

Connections will be facilitated through the website (similar to linked-in's inMail).  This way, all of the requests are grouped in one place.  Since the contact goes through our website, we can moderate messages and evaluate if the causes of the event match with the causes of the business, among other things.

The first image is the business' profile.  The second is the messaging screen.  In the messaging screen, clicking a message highlights it and gives a preview of the message on the right.  Each rectangle displays useful information such as the event, the event cause and the charity.  This way, the business user can know at a quick glance if the message pertains to them.  Business users can also make folders for their messages.
