Project status:

Student Matlab: ran out of Matlab licenses on 5/3/10 and 5/5/10,
briefly, for first time. Moved 25 MATLAB, 5 GADS_Toolbox licenses from
Athena to student. Contacted user gajans re excessive license use

Keyserving: restarted KeyServer re lockup on 5/12; reported this to
Sassafras. Documented restart details for Jon/others on team in Wiki

Migration of WRW to Drupal: working with production to do this
migration. The bulk will be done while I'm on vacation...

General:

  • encrypted MacBook Pro hard drive in support of disk encryption project
  • sorted out Splus renewal delay with qla, vendor
  • registered for USENIX
  • working with JonR on drop/add list of thirdparty packages for release
  • ongoing conversations with davek re IBM TSM support for Ubuntu
  • updated abdenna on end of FY academic software expenses
  • tested 64 bit apps on new Lucid/debathena 64 bit test dialup;
    requested a few extra libs that were missing for some apps
  • renewed Tecplot annual maintenance, got notice from vendor that the
    2010 release is available
  • requested Xess annual maintenance quote

Problems:

  • ongoing temporary license keys for AMPL- arranged for coverage during
    my vacation, but IBM botched sending keys; permanent lic finally coming
  • ongoing issue resolution with ArcGIS 10 license server problems
  • got detailed response from Gaussian re licensing impasse; we are stuck
    on requirement for individual non-disclosure agreements
  • issues with student Matlab renewal- suggested possible wording for
    license renewal
  • /usr/bin/R is on dialups- why? No one knows...
