Membership Module Overview

The Membership Module is a new web service which provides course administrators with a simple and user-friendly method to centralize and manage course membership information sourced from WEBSIS, while providing students with straightforward interface from which to choose and/or switch sections.

Standalone option
This new service also provides a new degree of flexibility to course administrators who do not wish to use Stellar, but are interested in utilizing WEBSIS registration data to manage specific access to course-related web content; or course administrators who want to provide access to the Gradebook Module, but do not need a Stellar course site.

Benefits
The Membership Module incorporates Touchstone authentication along with the existing core functionality of the familiar Stellar Membership while offering the following new features to course administrators:

1.    Ability to import WEBSIS pre-registration section enrollment data, including recitations, lectures, labs and design sections.
2.    Ability to customize maximum size for individual sections.
3.    Option to assign multiple sections (types) to any given student.
4.    Ability to display student photos in roster and list views.
5.    Ability to easily propagate membership data to other active modules (e.g., Gradebook Module).
6.    All users will have the ability to “section” membership into ad hoc groups.
