- Half size fin preforms were made with 1/8in plywood core and a layer of E-glass.
- The preforms were attached to a an E-glass tube with thickened epoxy fillets.
- For this tip-to-tip layup, 3 layers of fiberglass was used, cut out the match the fin shape with the first layer being undersized and the last layer folding over the edges.
- The cutouts were spray glued to wax paper and epoxy was rolled on.
- The layup was vacuum bagged. Peel ply and release film was used.
