Overview

Rev 1

This is the second iteration of the design after the first avionics bulkhead became deformed during a ground test.

Rev 2

This revision of the avionics bulkhead was designed to withstand 500 lbs of recovery load acting from the piston.  It has clearance holes for the piston interface, vent holes for the inside of the AV tower, 3 radial holes for mounting the AV tower, and 2 holes for the U-bolt.  This part was machined out of a single piece of 6061 Al and the features were machined it a CNC mill.

Manufacturing

This component was waterjet from a sheet of 6061 aluminum. It was then milled in a jig on a CNC mill. The component was then flipped in the jig and the D-Sub 9 connector mounting features was milled in.
