Overview

The team attended a CATO launch. 18 people travelled to the launch in 3 cars. The Cambridge Budget was all sold out of cars so we had to rent them from the airport. Charlie G. tragically had to leave his cobalt blue Mustang rental behind in order to bring everyone to the launch. The team launched 15 rockets for a total of 2880 Ns of impulse burned. 12 of the 14 people attempting certification flights were successful. Flight failures were attributed to an improperly tied nose cone attachment knot, a fin being stepped on, extreme zippering due to an incorrectly long ejection charge, and nomex reefing the parachute (see Project Therion, Flight #1). No other universities attended.
