Overview

To validate the sabot extraction, new fin can, improved avionics, and dual separation architecture. This test was originally scheduled for late 2016. Raziel 1 was successfully integrated December 1st. Following a decision to switch recovery architectures the first launch was rescheduled for January. Due to a lack of launch site availability the first launch slipped to February 8, 2017. Due to weather the launch date slipped four (4!) more times to LDRS 36 at MDRA in April of 2017. This was the first flight of Project Raziel.
