We planned this symposium approximately one year ago, before Iris Young's untimely death.  We mourn her passing.  Happily, however, we are able to honor her and her tremendous contributions to feminist and antiracist philosophy through this symposium.  Iris had agreed to write a reply  to the commentaries, as is our custom.  We regret that the discussion below will not benefit from her insight and wisdom.  We invite everyone, however, to carry on in her spirit.  --The Editors.
