Many students are overwhelmed when attempting to navigate a career fair with hundreds of employers.  This workshop will provide tips and strategies on how be effective at the Fall Career Fair on Friday.  You will learn what to do in preparation for the fair, what to do at the fair, and what to do after the fair.  The fair is an excellent opportunity to connect with employers -- create a strategy that will help you in this competitive employment environment!  This webinar is open to undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni – an internet connection is needed to participate and using a phone to listen to the audio is ideal.  Advanced registration is required via WebEx.

Creating an Effective CV for the Academic Job Search

The CV is used for the academic job search and in some cases for PhD's seeking a research position in other settings.  This workshop will cover the important elements of a CV, including strategies for how to showcase your particular knowledge and experiences effectively.  We will also discuss some aspects of the academic job search – such as obtaining letters of recommendation.  It’s helpful to bring a copy of your CV or a draft with you to refer to as we go through the material in the workshop.
