Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Supply Chain Management

The Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management invites applications for two faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Supply Chain Management. Candidates will have a PhD in Supply Chain Management or related fields, or expect to complete their degree by Fall 2013. We seek applicants with a strong commitment to high impact, managerially relevant research in logistics and supply management, although candidates with empirical-based operations management research interests will also be considered. Candidates at the Associate Professor level are expected to have a strong research record in premier-quality publications. The department especially encourages applications from candidates with research expertise in empirical research, econometrics, and practice-centered analytical modeling.
Preference will be given to candidates who can design and deliver innovative courses in the well-established Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management as well as contribute to the Center for Supply Chain Transformation. The ability to work with industry and colleagues in the department, school, and university are also desired qualifications. She/he may also teach in the department’s undergraduate supply chain program, and the college’s MBA program. Current standard load is five 3-hour credit courses per year, with the potential for teaching load reduction for significant research productivity.

The Edward P. Fitts Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) at North Carolina State University (NC State) is seeking qualified applicants for two full-time, tenure-track faculty positions with a concentration in health systems engineering. Relevant disciplines include industrial and systems engineering, operations research, and related fields as applied to medical decision making and health care systems engineering. Applicants with strong methodological research interests are particularly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to do innovative research in medical decision making and health systems engineering and to pursue relevant research funding. In addition, the candidate is expected to be active in the department's PhD program, and to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Lehigh University invites applications for two tenure-track assistant or associate professor positions from candidates whose research focuses on computation, modeling, control, and optimization for advanced
electricity systems. The faculty members will be part of a new university research cluster consisting of a multidisciplinary team of engineering, computer science, economics, and mathematics faculty. The cluster has a specific focus on smart grids that is part of a broader research agenda on “Integrated Networks for Electrical, Information, and Financial Flows.” The faculty members will be appointed to a position within an appropriate department---for example, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics.
The candidates must have a proven research interest in applications related to smart grids, including, but not limited to, topics such as: survivable networks, electricity pricing, combinatorial auctions, power systems design and modeling, dynamic control of power and information networks, real-time scheduling and resource management, market models, visualization of electricity networks, real-time computational systems, data analytics, sensor networks, communications, estimation, and real-time systems design. The candidates’ research may draw on methodological areas including, but not limited to: optimization, simulation, statistical modeling, robust optimization, stochastic discrete optimization, scientific computation, nonlinear networks, game-theoretical models, high-performance computing, high-precision numerical computing, algorithmic decision theory, dynamical systems, signal processing and communications, systems design theory, dynamic control of large-scale interconnected systems, large scale data processing, and realtime operating, embedded, and decision systems. Applicants must possess (1) an earned doctorate, outstanding academic credentials, and a demonstrated record of success, (2) excellent potential for interdisciplinary research and scholarship, and (3) the ability and commitment to teach courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
