Specific subject description

Institute of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, School of Business, Economics and Law at Göteborg University, Sweden, seeks applications to a senior lectureship in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with research interests in evolutionary approaches to entrepreneurship and the emergence of new knowledge-based organizations. The Institute's aim is that senior lecturers do research as well as teach.

Job assignments

The position entails all aspects of teaching primarily, but not exclusively, at the Master level in the Master programmes 'Knowledge Based Entrepreneurship' and 'Innovation and Industrial Management'. Courses include topics like entrepreneurship and new business development, emergence of new organizations such as academic spin-offs and corporate ventures, innovation management and research methods. The position further entails participation in all aspects of conducting research in, and attracting funding for research in the subject area. Candidates must also expect to participate in the Institute's advisory work with public sector and business clients.

Eligibility

To be eligible for employment as a seniorlecturer tha applicant is required to have demonstrated teaching skills, and to have a doctoral degree or equivalent scientific expertise.

Assessment

Equal importance will be given to scientific and pedagogical skills. Candidates will be assessed on their skills in conducting research, managing projects and teaching in evolutionary approaches to entrepreneurship and the emergence of new knowledge-based organizations. This could include a focus on topics related to development, knowledge and learning as part of the entrepreneurial process from exploration of ideas and exploitation in new companies and in existing businesses. Candidates' experience of different research methods, including both qualitative and quantitative methods, is also an assessment ground, as well as the ability to teach with a high English proficiency. The ability to contribute both scientifically and educationally to the Institute and to have the personal qualities required to be able to cooperate internally and externally will be assessed.
