Avionics Requirements:

  • Performance

    • MUST log telemetry locally in real time (5.1)

    • MUST confirm power on of system and adjacent components and state behaviour (5.2)

    • System MUST handle sensor failure gracefully (5.3)

      • system SHOULD estimate in the event of sensor failures (5.3.1)

    • System MUST ascertain the altitude/position of the rocket at high altitudes and speeds (5.4)

    • System MUST have the ability to estimate as well as Telemega (5.5)

  • Safety

    • Hardware no explosions protocol MUST be verifiable by firmware (5.9)

    • Software no explosions protocol MUST be implemented (5.10)

  • Testing

    • System MUST have full service hardware self-test/diagnostic (5.7)

      • SHOULD include both sensor calibration and verification (5.7.8)
