Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Supply Chain Management

The Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management invites applications for two faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Supply Chain Management. Candidates will have a PhD in Supply Chain Management or related fields, or expect to complete their degree by Fall 2013. We seek applicants with a strong commitment to high impact, managerially relevant research in logistics and supply management, although candidates with empirical-based operations management research interests will also be considered. Candidates at the Associate Professor level are expected to have a strong research record in premier-quality publications. The department especially encourages applications from candidates with research expertise in empirical research, econometrics, and practice-centered analytical modeling.
Preference will be given to candidates who can design and deliver innovative courses in the well-established Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management as well as contribute to the Center for Supply Chain Transformation. The ability to work with industry and colleagues in the department, school, and university are also desired qualifications. She/he may also teach in the department’s undergraduate supply chain program, and the college’s MBA program. Current standard load is five 3-hour credit courses per year, with the potential for teaching load reduction for significant research productivity.

The Raj Soin College of Business is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The College has approximately 1200 undergraduate and 500 graduate students. The Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management participates in the undergraduate programs through four core courses and undergraduate majors in Supply Chain Management and Information Systems. At the graduate level the Department offers two blended Masters programs to a regional audience of working professionals: The Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and the Masters of Information Systems. The Master of Science in Logistics and Supply Chain Management has been offered since 2005 and currently has graduated over 200 students from business and government within a five state region, including 40 different organizations, five government entities and both military and civilian employees of Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
The Center for Supply Chain Transformation was formed in 2008 to serve as a catalyst for innovation and positive change in supply chain enterprises both in the Midwest region and globally. The Center has fostered partnerships with Supply Chain professionals in business and government to enable students, faculty and the business community to implement and share leading edge best practices. The Center has facilitated capstone projects in both the Department’s Masters of Supply Chain program and the undergraduate Supply Chain Management major, as well as research projects with regional business. The Center conferences and programs have been utilized to serve as continuing professional development credits for Supply Chain Professionals in the region, and the Center has partnered with affiliates of the various Supply Chain Professional Associates to sponsor scholarships, professional programs and other advancement opportunities. The faculty of the Department of Information Systems and Supply Chain Management participate in all of the various center activities, including research, project facilitation, and as conference speakers.
WSU is a comprehensive, research-intensive state university with its main campus located in Dayton, Ohio. It serves approximately 17,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs.
