Staring Down the Blank Screen – the Psychology of Thesis Writing for Master’s Students
This is a workshop for master students who will be writing a thesis as a part of their degree requirement. Topics to be discussed –
• the essentials of thesis writing
• self --direction and accessing support o working with thesis advisor, other faculty and programs/department
o peer support (“thesis buddies”)
o resource for writing
• time management
• sleep, stress management and productivity -‐ the thought-‐feeling-‐action cycle and anxiety induced procrastination
• other interpersonal issues related to the thesis process
