• (Completed) The early admissions process for the 5-year combined SB/SM program opens on June 1, 2024. Review will run through mid-August, with decisions being sent by September 1, 2024.
• Have a look at our current Scoring Guidelines here. Please use these guidelines if needed, when you are choosing the numerical score of an applicant you are reviewing.

GAC-specific information

• As of the 2025 cycle, all faculty are now members of the Graduate Admissions Committee (GAC)
• Intended meaning of review scores:
  • 4: Definitely Admit
  • 3.5: Admit
  • 3: Admissible
  • 2: Probably Admissible
  • 1: Reject

• GAC will only ask sectors to perform Round 2 reviews if a candidate receives an average score of >2.5 during Round 1
• Triaging will be done by GAC Chair and Student Services to facilitate efficient review of applications. Additional reviews may be removed and rather conducted by GAC Chair and removed to the pending deny bin.
• All official decisions from the department will not be sent until end of February.

GAC 2024-2025 Schedule 

• December 1, 2024: Grad applications website closes.
• November 15, 2024 - January 3, 2024 - GAC Folder Reading begins (faculty review begins as soon as possible after this, as GAC reads are completed and I’m able to assign and pass along folders). Applications will have either one or two reviewers. Round 1 applications are due by January 5, 2024.
• January 5, 2024: Round 1 completed by this date. All folders have two GAC reads (plus additional DI&I reading where necessary). Applications with either have no further review or one reviewer.
• Mid-January: GAC Review Meeting
• February 1, 2024: All faculty reviews completed
• February 5-9, 2024: Sector Admissions Meetings
• Beginning week of Feb 21, 2024: Students notified of admissions decisions - all decisions sent by March 1, 2024.
• March 13-14, 2024: AeroAstro Open house
• April 15, 2024: Graduate Reply Deadline
• May 30, 2024: Wait List is released.
